The Success Story of 3rd Global Public Health Conference 2020 – (GlobeHeal 2020)

The Success Story of 3rd Global Public Health Conference 2020 – (GlobeHeal 2020), was held on 13- 14 February in Bangalore, India under the theme “Embracing Community’s Responses to Address Global Public Health Issues”. The conference was organized by The International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM), Sri Lanka in collaboration with Annamalai University, India as the hosting partners while Asia Metropolitan University (AMU), Malaysia and Faculty of Public Health, Bangladesh University of Health Sciences (BUHS), Bangladesh as the academic partners for this  conference.

Inauguration Ceremony

The opening remarks of Globeheal 2020 were made by Dr. K. Ravi Kumar, Guest Speaker, Senior Regional Director (Central Health Service), Regional Office for Health & FW, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India – Bangalore together with Mr. Isanka P. Gamage (Managing Director, The International Institute of Knowledge Management).

Keynote Forum

The Keynote forum was represented by Prof. Kamiar Alaei, Distinguished Visiting Global Health Scholar, Dornsife School of Public Health, USA under the title “A Human Rights-based Approach to Global Health in Conversation Social Settings”.  Secondly, Professor Sanoj Rajan, Professor of International Law and Human Rights, Zhejiang Gongshang University, China also delivered a speech.

KEYNOTE FORUM

The Keynote forum was represented by Prof. Kamiar Alaei, Distinguished Visiting Global Health Scholar, Dornsife School of Public Health, USA under the title “A Human Rights-based Approach to Global Health in Conversation Social Settings”.  Secondly, Professor Sanoj Rajan, Professor of International Law and Human Rights, Zhejiang Gongshang University, China also delivered a speech.

Participants from more than 18 countries

Globeheal 2020 consisted of over 35 participants from 18 countries around the world, including Sri Lanka, USA, Taiwan, Malaysia, India, Lebanon, Turkey, Canada, Indonesia, Netherlands, Norway, Bangladesh, Lithuania, UAE, Mexico, Nigeria, and Nepal. The Conference provided an opportunity for delegates to share their valuable knowledge and experience of public health from various perspectives.  This conference had representation from every continent and regions across the world, to share views and ideas on current public health issues, network with international colleagues and made the conference a meaning the full opportunity for engagement.

ROUND TABLE DISCUSSIONS

Globeheal2020 provided a great platform for delegates to discuss and share their insights on the trends, issues, possible solutions to prevailing concerns in public health. Participants were encouraged to participate in any of the roundtable discussions and gained maximum knowledge during the conference period.

PUBLICATION WORKSHOP

Through the publication workshop, it was intended to disseminate knowledge on writing scientific papers and scholarly publications to assist future researchers. The workshop was moderated by Prof. Tony Szu-Hsien Lee, National Taiwan Normal University, Taiwan via ZOOM live presentation. The Perspective of the publication workshop was to assist researchers who write full papers intending to publish in a reputable journal or a reputable proceeding. Through this publication workshop, the facilitator was able to disseminate knowledge on writing scientific papers and scholarly publications for future researchers. All conference participants were delighted and graced by this opportunity.

PUBLICATION IN PROGRESS

All accepted abstracts for the 3rd Global Public Health Conference 2020 – (GlobeHeal 2020) will be published in the conference abstract book with an associated ISBN 978-955-3605-48-1.

All full papers sent for conference proceedings will be subjected to double-blind reviewing process and will be published electronically with an ISSN 2513-258x in the proceedings with a DOI Number (DOI prefix: 10.17501).
