Professor Dr Wong Li Ping, University of Malaya, Malaysia.
Dr Wong Li Ping, received her Ph.D. in medical science (Epidemiology) from the University of Malaya in 2004. She takes part in the Faculty’s research methodology, epidemiology and biostatistical teaching both at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Dr. Wong’s research has centered almost exclusively on social and behavioral medicine. Dr. Wong is a highly funded researcher. She has successfully securing grants and funding on enormous range of subjects includes:  research on risk behaviors,  research on preventive behaviors  behavioral responses to emerging infectious diseases, and  sexual reproductive health research. Dr. Wong’s research also extends beyond behavioral medicine to environmental health. She has acquired grant to study health impact and needs assessment of urban heat island phenomenon of the city of Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. Dr. Wong is also engaged as a registered Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) consultant with the Department of Environment (DOE) Malaysia under the EIA Consultant Registration Scheme. She is a certified EIA Consultant since year 2014 and has been consultants for various EIA projects in Malaysia.
Dr wong has published over 100 publications, over 80 of them indexed by the Web of Science (Thomson Reuters) and h-index 13 [Google Scholar: 1,723 citations, h-index 23.
Conference Chair Message
It has been a real honor and privilege to serve as the Chair for The 2nd Global Public Health Conference 2019 (GlobeHEAL 2019) held Colombo, Sri Lanka. This year conference theme, “Enhancing Global Health Development towards Sustainable Healthy Communities” reflected
under the theme “Revitalizing Resilience towards the Emergence of Healthy Communities”. It is my pleasure to convey my gratitude to TIIKM for successful efforts in bringing together a rich diversity of academicians, researchers and scientists from various universities and industries all over the world to share ideas and new perspectives on a wide range of topics related global health.
Global public health today faces many unique challenges. Much research has been devoted to address global public health issues. Global public health research should not only generate knowledge; more importantly, it should lead to action. As such, a platform for academics, researchers and practitioners from various sectors to discuss the diverse facets of global health issues is highly warranted. GlobeHEAL serves as a platform aims to build a bridge between disciplines, sectors and different groups of stakeholders. The conference also offers abundant opportunities for exchange of ideas and discussions towards sustainability of global health by highlighting implementation challenges and how to address them. The conference program offers an amazing line-up of inspiring presentations and engagement activities to learn and share experiences and ideas about how to work build partnerships, bringing together health care, public health and other community systems across different nations to create healthy communities.
The conference is organized by the professional local organizing committee at TIIKM. I am confident that TIIKM will make the GlobeHEAL 2019 an unforgettable event for all the participants.
